"Hey Dr. T, should I be taking a multivitamin?"
"No! Don't I have you on enough things already???" "Yeah, but why not a multivitamin for all around health?" "Listen... Multivitamins have a lot of great things in them but not enough of any one thing to be helpful. How much can you stick in one pill that's going to do anything?" "Well, I'm taking a Centrum Silver and..." "Oh my goodness you're wasting your money!" Okay, I give up. Here is a viable option and I will explain why... It's called Mitocore, four (4) capsules per day. Why? 1. Helps with energy production. 2. I take this two hours before I play hockey or before a workout (yes, two hours before). 3. It's high in antioxidants. 4. If you read the label, it's a multivitamin on steroids. Here is the best part. I have a deal with Ortho Molecular: If you do not feel better after finishing one bottle, they will refund your money. Yes, a money-back guarantee. Here's a cute little video on Mitocore Click Here. Mitocore is available at the Bloomfield office or follow this link: https://askdrt.weebly.com/store/p68/Mitocore.html

Everyone is asking me what I think of the vaccine? Well, here are my thoughts.
I think I am going to specifically recommend the COVAXX vaccine. Why? This is a "synthetic" vaccine. They take amino acids and match the protein surface antigens of the virus and then your immune system develops a immune reaction to these amino acids (peptides). No live or dead virus parts. No chance of contamination. And the immune response appears to be better and longer. Covaxx, the company that is producing this vaccine has been making this type of antibody for animals for years and have administered over 500,000 doses with minimal side effects. I am not sure when it is going to be available though... Supposedly first quarter this year. Here is link to read about it. https://www.covaxx.com/ In the meantime, there is a group of hospital intensive care specialists that have put together a science-based protocol to prevent and treat Covid-19. The group is called FLCCC Alliance. I would suggest you go to their website and read about the I-MASK+ protocol. https://covid19criticalcare.com/i-mask-prophylaxis-treatment-protocol/i-mask-protocol-translations/ This is really neat stuff. If only people would listen... Be healthy, be educated, DR.T We are tentatively going to start seeing patients again (in the flesh) vs. just telemedicine starting June 1st.
Having said that, I believe telemedicine is going to be the world's new norm for quite some time. I am okay with that and if you are happy with continuing to use telemedicine as your norm, that's fine too. If you have not used our system yet for Functional Tele-Medicine here is the link which is located on our website: https://askdrt.weebly.com/functional-tele-medicine.html If and when you do schedule an appointment in the office, we are requiring masks be worn, and we will be checking forehead temperatures upon arrival. And it's without saying that if you start feeling ill before your in-office appointment to change it to telemedicine. The IV Suite is open now. Masks and appointments required. If you are still concerned about going out and getting your blood work drawn, I would mention that most of the Quest/Labcorp and hospital draw stations are extremely slow. Now is a better time to get your labs than when people start getting out and about. And don't forget, for thyroid, and hormones we can test your levels at home by sending you out a finger stick, urine or saliva test kit. We are all waiting for life to get "back to normal." I think our normal has changed. Embrace it and go with it. Let us know if you have any questions. DR.T "What do I have to do to improve my sleep???" Well, you know the usuals... 1. Dark, cool room. 2. No electronics near your head; cell phone, IPad, electronic clock. Actually you shouldn't even have a TV in your bedroom. 3. Hot shower before bed or an Epsom salts bath (2 cups, 30 minutes) 4. Medicate, stretch for 5 minutes before going to bed. 5. Eating a protein-fat snack just before bed. No carbs 2-3 hours before bedtime. 6. Don't exercise before bed unless you are Type 0 blood. 7. And don't drink caffeine after 3PM Yeah, you knew all of that, right? There are a lot of supplements that you can take for sleep; melatonin, CBD, chamomille tea, etc. If you have tried all of these and nothing seems to be working well enough. I would suggest you try this. Phosphatidylserine (PS): 2 at bedtime plus OmegaGenics Neuro 1000: 1-2 at bedtime Many of you wake up at night because you spike your cortisol levels early in the morning. You do this because you rdiet is not perfekt and you do not have a life without stress. Phoshatidylserine supresses cortisol at night while you are trying to sleep. Remember, cortisol is like a weak adrenaline and when you spike your levels at night you wake up. PS also helps with your stress response during the day and has teh additional benefits...
Discounted link to Phosphatidylserine Discounted link to OmegaGenics Neuro 1000 Questions out there? Email us at: [email protected] For some of you it may be time or coming time to retest your labs. Some of you may be hesitant to go to Quest, come into the office, etc. to get your blood drawn right now.
(BTW Luis is in the office for blood draws by appointment only for patients that are not having symptoms of a viral infection) Here is an option for the short term... but remember, this is only for testing thyroid and Hormones: We can test your thyroid levels through ZRT Laboratory. Their blood spot test uses a finger stick that you would perform at home. Cost: Elite Thyroid Profile: $230 that you pay directly to the lab. ZRT can also test Hormone levels for men and women with a fingerstick: $160 ZRT does not take insurance. Female or Male hormone levels can also be tested via Genova Diagnostics via a urine sample or saliva. 1. Menopause Plus is a saliva test that tests cortisol as well. Max cost is $199 but they will bill your insurance. If you have basic Medicare it will cover (not Advantage programs). 2. Complete Hormones Urine test for Men or Women is a first morning urine test and runs the same price $199, again medicare will cover. If you want the office to drop ship you a kit, Email us if you need thyroid and/or hormones and if you want fingerstick, urine or saliva at: [email protected] or call 248 302 0473 and leave a message. ____________________________________________Follow us on social mediaInstagram Facebook Watch DR.T's YouTube Channel Award-winning webinars are available at LINK TO WEBINARS Know someone that would benefit from a free eBook on Functional Medicine? I also downed an additional 5,000 mg. Are you taking 1,000 mg of vitamin C per day? 2,000? more? Great! But it's probably not enough if you're trying to be proactive and boost your immune system against viruses. BTW, here are a couple of articles that talk about how vitamin C kills viruses. 1. https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/14787210.2020.1706483 2. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3659258/ HOW MUCH VITAMIN C TO TAKE... The goal is to "titrate to bowel tolerance" What does that mean??? You take as much as you can without getting loose stools/diarrhea. Start out taking 10,000-15,000 mg in 4 divided doses over a 24 hour period. So, start out taking 3-4,000 mg three times per day. If you get loose stools, decrease. If you don't notice anything, increase until you do. Then you will know the dose you can handle. NIH article on Vitamin C to bowel tolerance https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7321921 Unfortunately, clean sources of vitamin C is becoming scarce. Below are some links. 1. Remember "Tang" as a kid? This vitamin C tastes just like it. http://mystoredrt.dfhealthestore.com/c-bio-fizz-effervescent-144g-powder.html# 2. Here is a good buffered vitamin C in capsules that will not rip up your stomach if you are sensitive to vitamin C https://www.purecapspro.com/drtpromo/pe/products/product_details.asp?ProductsID=1026 3. Here is another one of my favorite buffered vitamin C in tablet form but it's on backorder (will take 1-2 weeks to get) https://ktopouzian.metagenics.com/ultra-potent-c-1000 - It also comes in a powdered form https://ktopouzian.metagenics.com/ultra-potent-c-powder Remember, vitamin C should be cheap (or I should say inexpensive). Liposomal vitamin C is an excellent product but a little pricey considering the amount you will have to take. But if you have it, by all means take it. Questions out there? You do not have to come into the office for these. We are going to be mailing them out to patients that want them. Here is an instructive video on how to prepare the injection. It is an intramuscular injection that can be given in the arm or your derrière. Here is link to purchase: https://askdrt.weebly.com/store/p54/Engystol_%28un-flu_shot%29.html Please do not order more than one per patient or family member. About Engystol (the unflu shot)
[email protected] with questions DR.T I have made some updates on ways to try to prevent Viral infections. We had talked about ways to boost your immune function and also how to kill viruses off "intranasally" (in your schnozzola) as many infections will harbor inside there.
But there are some other interesting ways to kill Viruses... One of the keys to health are to have your first morning urine PH be between 6.4-7.0 If your pH becomes too low, it’s very hard for the body to uptake nutrients. An low pH creates a hostile internal environment, making the body struggle to get the nutrients it needs. As your body's PH normalizes, you increase oxygenation to your tissues by 10 to 20-fold. Increased oxygen decreases inflammation and helps kill off any infectious agent you may have ("bugs" don't like oxygen). This just seems to make sense. Increase your PH, decrease risk of infection. Click here to Learn How to Increase Your PH HERE'S MORE INFO ON HOW TO BOOST YOUR IMMUNE FUNCTION 1. Take PRO Colostrum-LD.
2. Get Engystol (the unflu shot) , a prescription-only homeopathic injection.
Click here to edWe're going to talk about two supplements, when taken together can shave off 5-10 pounds of fat. Now, if you're eating a cheese burger with fries while reading this email... well, it might not work for you. But for the rest of you, here we go! You probably don't know this but there actually is a bacteria in your gut that is associated with "skinny" people. It's called Akkermansia and if you have a high concentration in your digestive system, you will lose weight. Well guess what Berberine GT, one of the supplements that I am talking about today does? Increases levels of Akkermansia in your gut. But that's not all Berberine GT does: 1. Increases insulin sensitivity (like Metformin but without the side effects) 2. Gets rid of your bad cholesterol by metabolizing it out of your system. 3. Decreases oxidative stress 4. The "GT"in Berberine GT stands for Green Tea which improves absorption and is an antioxidant. Dosing: one capsule twice per day and can be purchased at a discount via this link: LINK TO BERBERINE GT The second supplement that is taken with Berberine GT is Meta Lipoate 300. Actions of Meta Lipoate 300: 1. Protects tissues from free radicals. 2. Improves the metabolism of glucose. 3. Improves insulin sensitivity (again like Metformin) 4. Improves peripheral neuropathy. 5. Improves liver function and detoxification. Dosing: one capsule twice per day with Berberine GT and also can be purchased at discount via this link: LINK TO META LIPOATE 300 Again, hopefully you're doing everything else right; not eating refined carbs all day long, exercising, getting enough sleep, hormone systems are balanced, and detoxing on a semi-regular basis. Try these two supplements, stay away from junk food and see if you lose those 5-10 pounds...
